Review

What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

The Roamii BE Lite is for buyers who want the lowest price and mainly wireless links between the two units. MSI lists up to 4323 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, sold as BE5000, with channels up to 240 MHz, MLO and 4K-QAM. Each unit has one 2.5 Gbit/s port and two 1 Gbit/s ports, a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and a 12 V, 1.5 A supply. MSI claims up to 5,800 sq ft and 120+ devices for the two-pack.

It is one of the few systems here with published throughput numbers. Tom's Guide (January 2025) measured 970.3 Mbps at 15 feet, 470.5 Mbps at 50 feet and 172.8 Mbps at 75 feet, and called it a bargain that falls short of full-specification Wi-Fi 7. TechRadar's verdict is great value, with the missing 6 GHz band as the main limitation.

What is missing: MSI does not say on the product page whether the FortiSecu security suite, powered by Trend Micro, stays free indefinitely, and there is no update period or power consumption figure. A wired 2.5 Gbit/s backhaul uses the only fast port, leaving the internet side on gigabit.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification6.6

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies7.2

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback7.0

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value8.4

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a 240 MHz channel?

It is a 5 GHz channel wider than the usual 160 MHz, which is how MSI reaches a 4323 Mbps link rate without a 6 GHz radio. Whether a client benefits depends on the client supporting it and on the 5 GHz channels available where you live; MSI does not publish EU-specific details.

Were the published speed tests done on the EU version?

The Tom's Guide and TechRadar reviews are of the version sold in the United States. The specification matches MSI's international page, but regional radio settings can differ, so treat the figures as indicative.

Principles

The manufacturer makes claims.
We check what the evidence says.

Every ranking follows the same protocol: an analysis of composition and specification, verification of claims against available studies, a review of verified owner feedback, and an assessment of price against what the product delivers.
