Principles

What our independence rests on

A ranking is worth something only when the reader knows what it rests on and how its publisher makes money. These are the principles we hold to.

Data

Sources instead of claims

Scores rest on manufacturer documentation, studies by independent laboratories and consumer organisations, public registers, and verified owner reviews. A claim confirmed by none of these is described as a manufacturer declaration — and scored as one.

Money

What is not for sale

We do not sell positions in a ranking, scores, badges or sponsored articles dressed up as analysis. No brand sees its result before publication and none has sight of the text.

The site is funded by affiliate links; the arrangement is described in a separate note on affiliate links.

Corrections

What happens when we are wrong

An error in the data or in the interpretation is corrected as soon as it is verified, and the ranking records what changed and when. We do not quietly remove results that turned out to be inconvenient.

Limits

What we do not score

We publish no rankings in categories where a product's value is decided by testing that cannot be verified from available sources — crash testing of child car seats, for instance, or the clinical efficacy of a preparation. No ranking is better than a ranking built on guesswork.

Principles

The manufacturer makes claims.
We check what the evidence says.

Every ranking follows the same protocol: an analysis of composition and specification, verification of claims against available studies, a review of verified owner feedback, and an assessment of price against what the product delivers.
