Review

What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

The 4 Lite is the budget pick for rooms up to about 30 m². Xiaomi publishes a particle CADR of 360 m³/h, and German shops listed on geizhals.de sell it from €120.80. That is about €0.34 per m³/h, by far the lowest in this ranking. The stated coverage of 25 to 43 m² corresponds to 3.5 to 6 air changes per hour, so the lower end of the range is realistic.

Unlike most budget units it has been through a consumer test. Stiftung Warentest graded it 2.8 in its 2024 round, according to geizhals.de and raumluft-helden.de: behind the Bosch Air 4000 (2.3) but a pass. We could not read the paywalled details.

The specification has gaps. Xiaomi quotes 33.4 dB(A) for night mode only; the noise at the speed where 360 m³/h is reached is not on the pages we opened. The filter is described as combining electrostatic charging with mechanical filtration for 99.97 % at 0.3 µm, with no EN 1822 class and no ozone statement. Power is 33 W, or 0.8 kWh over 24 hours. Filter life is 6 to 12 months, so costs can be double those of a 12-month filter.

No owner rating was visible on the pages we opened; the owner score is therefore a cautious placeholder.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification6.8

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies6.5

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback6.8

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value9.2

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.
