What this product is
Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.
The lighter of the two Stiftung Warentest "gut" ratings, and the only manufacturer in this ranking that tells you which safety standard it meets.
Joolz explicitly names EN 1888-2 on its product page. That matters more than it sounds. EN 1888-1:2018 covers pushchairs up to 15 kg; EN 1888-2:2018 exists specifically because the market moved to 22 kg seats and Part 1's test loads did not cover that range. It sets stability, durability and restraint requirements at the heavier 15–22 kg loads. Every stroller in this ranking claims a 22 kg limit — so Part 2 is the standard that actually governs them, and seven of eight do not mention it.
At 6 kg it is joint lightest here with the Cybex, and it takes a child from birth to 22 kg in full recline, with a carrycot and car-seat adapters available. The fold is one-second and one-handed.
The cabin claim does not hold, though. At 53.5 × 45 × 21.5 cm, the 21.5 cm depth is excellent and the 53.5 cm length is fine — but the 45 cm width breaks the common 40 cm limit. It will fit many overhead bins in practice; it will not pass a strict sizer.
Fabrics are made from recycled PET, it comes with a transport bag, and the warranty is ten years and transferable — which is unusual and genuinely valuable if you plan to pass it on or resell.
Wheels are 5.1 inches front and 5.9 inches rear. Joolz's own outlet was showing €321.30 against a €459 RRP at the time of research, so the street price moves a long way.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Why does EN 1888-2 matter?
Because every stroller in this ranking claims a 22 kg maximum, and EN 1888-1:2018 only covers the conventional range up to 15 kg. EN 1888-2:2018 — amended as EN 1888-2:2018+A1:2022 and adopted in Germany as DIN EN 1888-2:2023 — exists specifically to test stability, durability and restraint at those heavier loads. A manufacturer naming it is telling you the 22 kg claim has been tested. Seven of the eight strollers here do not mention any standard at all.
Is compliance with EN 1888 mandatory?
Strictly, no. EU law mandates the outcome — the product must be safe under the General Product Safety Regulation. EN 1888 is a harmonised standard, so conformity gives a presumption of conformity with that legal duty. In practice it is the route every manufacturer takes and effectively a market requirement. We have not verified this against the official EU harmonised standards list, so treat the mechanism as described rather than as a citation.
