What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

Samsung's page for the WW9ECGC04AAEEG is complete: class A, 44 kWh per 100 cycles, 50 litres per cycle, spin class B, 72 dB(A) in noise class A, and 3:48 h for Eco 40-60. At 550 mm it is the shallowest machine here and at 65 kg one of the lightest.

Stiftung Warentest graded it 2.1 in issue 11/2025 and, according to testberichte.de, named it the price tip for moderate purchase cost with low water and energy use. The sub-grades quoted by guenstiger.de explain the gap to the leaders: washing 2.5, durability 1.0, handling 2.7. Owner feedback is the broadest in this ranking: 4.4 stars from 502 Amazon.de reviews and 4.7 from 38 on Samsung's site.

It suits buyers on a budget who value a proven durable build over the last bit of washing performance; we saw €479 on Amazon.de. The 50 litres per cycle is the highest water figure here, level with the Miele and the Bosch Serie 6. Samsung's black sibling WW90CGC04AABEG is advertised as "A −10 %" with the same 44 kWh, so the badge adds nothing. The 54 % microfibre and 99.9 % bacteria claims are Samsung's own.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification8.2

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies7.5

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback8.3

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value8.8

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.
