Nokian Tyres Seasonproof 2

A class A wet-grip label at 70 dB for 80.62 EUR, but its two 2026 tests put it in the middle of the field and the label data from Nokian and the retailer do not match.

Review

What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

An attractive label at a fair price, with weaker test evidence than the label suggests. reifen.com shows the 205/55 R16 91V as C for rolling resistance, A for wet grip and 70 dB (class B), EPREL 1878759, with 3PMSF and M+S. Nokian's own size table, as we read it, shows class B for rolling resistance with A wet grip and 70 dB — the two sources disagree on one class, and EPREL itself could not be reached to settle it.

In the tests we found it was mid-field: 3.1 in ADAC's 2026 185/65 R15 test (joint sixth of eleven) and 44.9 m wet, 39.6 m dry, 84.5 m total in Auto Bild's 2026 qualifying round in 225/45 R17 — sixth of the seven results we noted. Nokian cites a TÜV SÜD Premium tyre test mark but publishes no figures from it on the page we opened.

Owner feedback is thin: 4.69/5 from only 13 reviews at reifen.com. A sensible option if the A wet-grip label is what you shop for, but the independent braking results do not show a clear advantage.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification7.4

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies6.6

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback6.8

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value7.6

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.
