Review

What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

A safe pick for drivers who want the most consistent test record and do not mind paying for it. ADAC rated it 2.3 in 225/45 R17 in 2025 (joint top with Goodyear) and 2.3 again in 185/65 R15 in 2026, where it was the only tyre to earn "gut". In Auto Bild's 2026 qualifying round in 225/45 R17 it was mid-field on braking: 44.1 m wet, 39.7 m dry, 83.8 m total. A 2026 auto motor und sport test in 195/55 R16 reportedly rated it "sehr gut" — seen second-hand only.

In 205/55 R16 91H the label shown by reifen.com is unremarkable: C for rolling resistance, B for wet grip, 70 dB (class B), EPREL 1230954. It carries both 3PMSF and M+S. Owner feedback is the best among tyres with a meaningful number of reviews: 4.79/5 from 117 at reifen.com.

What is missing: the Continental product page would not open for us, so we have no manufacturer claims to report, and we found no independent test in this exact size. At 95.98 EUR it costs more than the Goodyear that won ADAC's test in 205/55 R16.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification7.5

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies8.5

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback8.6

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value7.0

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.

Its strong results come from 225/45 R17 and 185/65 R15, not from 205/55 R16, its label in this size is only C / B, and it is one of the dearest tyres in the list.
