Review

What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

The value pick among tyres that have actually been tested in 205/55 R16. ADAC's 2024 test in this size rated it 2.8 ("befriedigend"), with a driving-safety sub-grade of 3.1 and an environment sub-grade of 2.2 — so it is the safety side, not wear or efficiency, that holds it back. In ADAC's 2026 test in 185/65 R15 it scored 2.9, fourth of eleven.

In 205/55 R16 91H the label shown by reifen.com is C / B / 70 dB (class B), EPREL 615699, with 3PMSF and M+S. At 74.35 EUR it is about 20 EUR per tyre cheaper than the Goodyear or Continental. reifen.com reports 4.71/5 from 294 reviews, the largest sample in this list. The retailer also quotes an Auto Zeitung test win from 2021; we saw that only on the retailer page and give it little weight because of its age.

What is missing: we could not open a Vredestein product page, so there are no manufacturer claims here. Note that Vredestein also sells a different, more recent Quatrac Pro+, which scored only 3.8 in ADAC's 2025 225/45 R17 test — do not confuse the two.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification7.0

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies7.0

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback8.2

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value8.3

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the Quatrac the same as the Quatrac Pro+?

No. The Quatrac Pro+ is a separate model; ADAC rated it 3.8 in 225/45 R17 in 2025. The plain Quatrac scored 2.8 in 205/55 R16 (2024) and 2.9 in 185/65 R15 (2026).

Why does it rank above more expensive tyres?

It combines a test in this exact size, a quiet 70 dB label and a large, positive review base with a price around 20 EUR per tyre lower.

Principles

The manufacturer makes claims.
We check what the evidence says.

Every ranking follows the same protocol: an analysis of composition and specification, verification of claims against available studies, a review of verified owner feedback, and an assessment of price against what the product delivers.
