What this product is
Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.
The cheapest mattress in this ranking, with a finding attached that most €600 mattresses cannot claim.
Konsument/VKI, reporting on 19 December 2024, highlighted it as the standout of the spring-core group: "Nur die Valevåg stützt alle Körpertypen in beiden Schlafpositionen gut ab" — only the Valevåg supports all body types well in both sleeping positions. It cost €190 at the time.
Alongside the f.a.n. Medisan Plus KS in the foam category, that makes two mattresses in this entire ranking that manage the all-body-types-both-positions test — and this one costs €159.
Stiftung Warentest rated it "gut" in the Matratzen 10/2022 programme. We could not verify a numeric grade, only the qualitative rating, and have not invented one.
Construction is a pocket-spring core with roughly 249 springs per square metre plus a thick foam layer and firm felt, at 24 cm — the second tallest here — with seven zones. Stiftung Warentest measured 23.0 cm and 19.8 kg. Medium-firm and firm versions are available.
The cover is removable and washable at up to 60 °C, though test.de notes this applies to the top side only and dry cleaning is not permitted. There is a 365-night trial and a 10-year guarantee — the longest trial in this ranking by a wide margin.
The gap is the foam density, which IKEA does not publish for this model — unusually, since it does publish for the Åvaberg and the Vesteröy. On a pocket-spring mattress the foam layer matters less than on an all-foam one, but the omission is worth noting.
For context on what IKEA money buys further down the range: the Vesteröy at €139 has foam of only 25–28 kg/m³ and a cover that is not removable or washable at all. That is what the extra €20 buys.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can a €159 mattress really be as good as a €600 one?
On this data, better. Konsument found this one supported all body types well in both sleeping positions, which the €566 Emma Original Pro did not — Stiftung Warentest described the Emma's lying properties as mixed in both positions and graded it 2.7. Stiftung Warentest's own guidance is that good mattresses cost €200-400 in 90×200, and its 2025 conclusion, restated by Konsument, was that the more expensive options in the test performed worse.
Is a 365-night trial genuinely useful?
It is the longest here and it removes the main risk in mattress buying, which is that you cannot assess a mattress in ten minutes in a shop. Note that long trials usually carry a minimum sleep period before you may return — check that condition. Separately, your statutory 14-day withdrawal right applies regardless and cannot be contracted away, even after you unwrap it.
