Review
What this product is
Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.
Holafly is the most heavily reviewed provider in this ranking and the one we would most readily steer people away from. Those two facts sit together for a reason worth understanding.
Trustpilot is 4.7 from 110,655 reviews, 84% five-star — the largest and one of the best-rated review bases in the category. Support is 24/7 via chat and WhatsApp.
Now the product.
There is no fixed-GB tier at all. Holafly sells unlimited plans only, so no price per gigabyte can be calculated. The 30-day unlimited plan is $73.90, roughly €63.54. At a realistic 1 GB a day that works out around €2.12 per GB; at 3 GB a day, around €0.71.
The hotspot cap is the deal-breaker. Holafly's own page limits sharing to 1 GB per day, and one independent source reports 500 MB to 1 GB per day followed by throttling to 500 KB/s. Every other provider here either allows unrestricted tethering or does not state a policy. An "unlimited" plan you cannot share with a laptop or a travelling companion is a materially different product from what the word implies.
The fair use policy is not on the product page. Holafly's own text says only that operators may throttle "for no more than one day". A third-party analysis documents a speed cut to 256–1,024 Kbps if estimated usage exceeds 90 GB in a month — but that figure comes from an analyst, not from Holafly's terms, and Holafly's own fair use page returned a redirect loop. Aggregated user reports suggest throttling in practice at 3–5 GB a day in popular markets and as low as 500 MB to 1 GB a day in weaker ones, down to 128 kbps. Those are anecdote, not measurement, and we present them as such.
Three sources give three different answers on the hotspot policy alone. That is the clearest possible signal about disclosure quality.
It is data-only with no number — calls via WhatsApp only — with no top-up option, so each trip means a new plan. Activation begins on first connection to the host network rather than at purchase. In France it runs on Orange.
The lesson worth taking from Holafly generally: Trustpilot scores in this category measure onboarding and support, not network performance or value. Airalo's 4.1 across 42,000 reviews and Ubigi's 4.1 across 45,000 are not evidence of a worse product.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How can the best-reviewed provider be the one you recommend least?
Because Trustpilot in this category measures the buying and support experience, not the product. Holafly's onboarding is smooth, its app works, and its 24/7 chat responds — all of which generate five-star reviews. None of that tells you about a 1 GB daily hotspot cap, an unpublished fair-use threshold, or cost per gigabyte. Airalo scores 4.1 across 42,000 reviews and publishes everything Holafly does not.
Is the 1 GB hotspot cap a real problem?
If you travel with a laptop or with another person, yes — it is the single most consequential restriction in this ranking. One gigabyte of tethering is a couple of hours of ordinary laptop use. If you plan to work from the connection or share it with a partner, this plan does not do what "unlimited" implies. Airalo, Saily and Orange all allow unrestricted tethering.
