Review
What this product is
Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.
Genuinely good engineering, sold with genuinely incomplete information.
Dyson quotes 240 Air Watts and up to 60 minutes runtime, with filtration capturing 99.97% of microscopic particles through a washable filter, and a removable click-in battery. Air Watts are at least a meaningful unit — airflow times suction measured in the airpath — unlike the Pascals quoted by the budget brands, though there is still no obligation to measure them to any standard.
What Dyson does not publish is the boost figure. The 60 minutes is a maximum, and every manufacturer that does publish both numbers shows a large gap: Bosch 40 to 10, LG 60 to 6, Miele 60 to 28. Dyson's real boost runtime is not disclosed anywhere we could find, and neither is the bin capacity or the noise level in dB(A) — both of which its competitors publish.
The removable battery is a real strength and puts Dyson on the right side of the February 2027 removability requirement.
A specification correction worth making. The Dyson Austria page states 4.1 kg. That is almost certainly a boxed or shipping weight — Dyson normally quotes around 3.1 kg for the V15, and 4.1 kg would make it by far the heaviest machine in this ranking. Treat the figure with suspicion and check in a shop.
The context that matters: in the same Stiftung Warentest round that reportedly graded this machine's stablemate the Gen5detect "Mangelhaft" for a melted battery housing, the winner was a Vorwerk. A Dyson badge is not a guarantee, and this model at €580 against a €799 RRP is the better-value Dyson of the two.

comes from.
Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.
What we liked
- 240 Air Watts — a meaningful unit, unlike Pascals
- Removable click-in battery, aligned with the 2027 rule
- 99.97% filtration of microscopic particles with a washable filter
- €579.99 street against a €799 RRP
- Laser dust detection on the Slim Fluffy head
- Strong Dyson service and spares network in Europe
Worth knowing
- No boost-mode runtime published anywhere
- Bin capacity not published
- Noise level in dB(A) not published
- Battery watt-hour capacity not published
- The 4.1 kg weight figure on Dyson's own page is almost certainly a boxed weight
- No HEPA class stated, only a particle percentage

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Are Air Watts a real measurement?
More real than Pascals, but still unregulated. Air Watts combine airflow and suction at a point in the airpath, which relates to actual cleaning; Pascals measure sealed static pressure at zero airflow, a condition a working vacuum never reaches. The two cannot be converted. But no EU rule requires either to be measured to a standard — IEC 62885-4 exists for cordless vacuums, and nothing compels a manufacturer to use it.
