Review

What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

The Serie 6 WGG244ZR10 is the plain alternative to the Serie 8. The data sheet states class A, 49 kWh per 100 cycles, 50 litres per cycle, spin class B, 70 dB(A) in noise class A, 3:48 h for Eco 40-60 and 73.7 kg. It lists AquaStop, SpeedPerfect, Iron Assist, a Hygiene Plus programme and ActiveWater Plus load detection. Neither Home Connect nor a motor warranty appears on the sheet we opened.

We found no independent test of this exact model. Stiftung Warentest's winning Bosch machines are the Serie 8 WGB244071 and the slim Serie 6 WUU28T71, which are different designs, so their grades cannot be transferred. Owner feedback is limited to 4.1 stars from 11 reviews on Bosch's site.

It suits buyers who want Bosch's water-damage protection and a quiet spin without paying for connectivity. Price is the catch: Bosch's own shop listed €879, in stock, while testberichte.de showed €584; at the higher figure the tested Serie 8 is the better buy. Against the Serie 8 it uses 4 litres more water per cycle and takes nine minutes longer on the label programme.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification8.0

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies5.5

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback7.2

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value7.4

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.
