What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

For a laptop user who wants a cable that cannot be left behind, this is the logical step up from the Belkin. Anker's EU product page states 87 W shared across three devices, up to 65 W to a single device, a built-in USB-C cable tested to over 10,000 bends, and a full recharge in about 1.5 hours with a 65 W charger.

Anker's performance claims are specific — a 14-inch MacBook Pro to 50% in under 40 minutes, an iPhone 15 Pro to 58% or a MacBook Air to 52% in 30 minutes — but they are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements. The page also describes the bank as approved for airline travel.

The price on the product page was €52.99, down from €65.70; the collection page showed €40.28 at a different moment, so prices move. There were 22 reviews on Anker's page, but we could not see an average score.

What is missing: the page we loaded did not show a watt-hour figure, rated capacity, weight or dimensions. Anker usually documents these elsewhere, but we could not load a specification table, so we treat them as not published. We found no independent test.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification6.2

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies5.0

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback6.8

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value7.4

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the Anker A1383 allowed on planes?

Anker's page says it is approved for airline travel. We could not see its watt-hour rating, so check the label on the bank: under 100 Wh it can go in cabin baggage, never in checked baggage.

Can it charge a laptop?

Yes, up to 65 W to a single device according to Anker, enough for most 13–14-inch USB-C laptops.
