Review

What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

The A329S 2CH is for buyers who want the best-documented front-and-rear system here and are willing to wire it in. Viofo names a Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor (1/1.8-inch, 8 MP) recording 4K at 60 fps at the front and an IMX675 (1/2.8-inch, 5 MP) recording 2K with HDR at the rear. It claims roughly 2.5 times the dynamic range of first-generation STARVIS sensors; that is the maker's comparison, not a measurement we saw.

Storage is the other strength: microSD cards up to 512 GB, plus external SSDs up to 4 TB over USB 3.0. Wi-Fi 6 on 5 GHz is quoted at up to 30 MB/s for downloads, and GPS is built in. Viofo lists five parking modes; its low-power impact detection draws under 40 mA at 12.6 V and starts recording in under 2 seconds, while hybrid parking needs the separate HK6 hardwire kit. Coolblue confirms that no hardwire kit is in the box and that video is saved as H.265.

Gaps: the pages we read do not give bitrate, field of view, operating temperature or the power-backup type. At €380 at Coolblue it has no reviews there yet, and we found no readable independent test.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification9.0

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies5.0

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback6.0

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value7.8

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.
