Surfshark suits households that want one subscription for many devices: the Starter plan allows unlimited simultaneous connections. On the pricing page we opened, the 27-month Starter term was USD 2.49 a month, billed USD 67.23 up front — about EUR 2.22 and EUR 59.89 at the ECB rate of 2 October 2026. The renewal price was not shown on that page, which is a real gap: the cost after month 27 is something to check at checkout.
The evidence is solid. Surfshark's Trust Center lists Deloitte no-logs assurance engagements in 2023 and 2025, a 2026 Cure53 audit covering its infrastructure and Dausos protocol (public), and a SecuRing assessment in 2025. Servers run from RAM only, and a transparency report is published quarterly. The contracting entity is Surfshark B.V., registered in the Netherlands, which matters for EU buyers because Dutch and EU consumer law apply directly. Since 2022 Surfshark has shared a holding company with Nord Security, though the companies say they operate independently.
Owner feedback is good — 4.3 out of 5 from 31,346 Trustpilot reviews — but the recurring complaint is a large price increase at renewal, with one reviewer describing a jump from under USD 60 to nearly USD 120 a year.
