IQAir HealthPro 250

The best-documented purifier of the ten: airflow, noise and power for each of six speeds, declared filter classes and a factory test of every unit. At €1,399 it delivers less air than a €249 Philips.

What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

The HealthPro 250 is for buyers who put documentation, filter mass and gas filtration ahead of price. IQAir publishes air delivery for every fan speed, from 50 m³/h at 32 dB(A) and 20 W to 440 m³/h at 67 dB(A) and 135 W, so you can pick the speed you will actually live with: speed 3 gives 170 m³/h at 51 dB(A). Note that these are airflow figures, not CADR.

The filter chain is declared stage by stage: an F8 pre-filter, a separate gas cartridge (V5-Cell) and a HyperHEPA filter stated as H12/13 with at least 99.97 % at 0.3 µm. IQAir says each unit is individually factory-tested. Filter lives are long: 12–18 months for the pre-filter, 15–21 for the gas stage, 36–48 for the HyperHEPA, based on 12 hours a day at speed 3.

HouseFresh measured the equivalent HealthPro Plus itself: 28 minutes to clear PM1 from its test room, a PM1 CADR of 213 cfm (about 362 m³/h) at 61.2 dB, but only 86 cfm below 45 dBA, with filters costing about $200 a year.

The drawbacks are plain: €1,399, 16 kg, 67 dB(A) at full speed and a claimed 104 m² that equals under two air changes per hour. Owners rate it 4.0 out of 5 from 944 reviews on iqair.com.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification9.0

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies8.0

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback7.0

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value3.5

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.

What we liked

  • Airflow, noise and power published for all six speeds
  • Filter classes declared: F8 pre-filter, HyperHEPA H12/13, separate gas cartridge
  • Every unit individually factory-tested, according to IQAir
  • HyperHEPA filter life of 36–48 months
  • Measured first-hand by HouseFresh: PM1 CADR 213 cfm (about 362 m³/h)

Worth knowing

  • €1,399: about €3.18 per m³/h of airflow, over six times the Philips
  • 67 dB(A) and 135 W at top speed; 16 kg
  • Only 86 cfm (about 146 m³/h) below 45 dBA in HouseFresh's test
  • 104 m² claim equals about 1.8 air changes per hour
  • No CADR figure published, only air delivery

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the HealthPro 250 worth five times the price of a Philips or Blueair?

Not for particle removal alone: 440 m³/h of airflow is less than the Philips' published 520 m³/h CADR. What you pay for is declared filter classes, a large separate gas filter, long filter life and per-speed documentation.

What is the difference between air delivery and CADR?

Air delivery is the volume of air leaving the unit. CADR multiplies that by how completely particles were removed in a test chamber. With a high-efficiency filter the two are close, but they are not the same measurement; HouseFresh measured a PM1 CADR of 213 cfm, about 362 m³/h.

Principles

The manufacturer makes claims.
We check what the evidence says.

Every ranking follows the same protocol: an analysis of composition and specification, verification of claims against available studies, a review of verified owner feedback, and an assessment of price against what the product delivers.
