What this product is

Eucerin's Oil Control gel-cream targets oily and blemish-prone skin and is the only product here whose page claims UVA protection 'above the EU recommendation' — which is a stronger statement than most, although no UVA-PF value is given to back it. The brand calls it unperfumed and water- and sweat-resistant, and describes two in-house studies: a use test with 325 women with acne-prone skin over two weeks in hot, humid climates and a clinical study with 40 women with oily skin. It quotes 98% agreeing it absorbs immediately and 94% reporting a long-lasting matte finish; these are perception figures from the manufacturer, not independent measurements.
It was one of the 14 face sunscreens in Stiftung Warentest's issue 4/2025; the grade is behind the paywall. The German product page we opened did not show the INCI or UV filter names, which is why its specification score is lower than Garnier's; check the pack before buying if you avoid particular filters. Price on notino.de is 15.50 euros for 50 ml (31 euros per 100 ml). Owner feedback is consistent: 4.7/5 from 268 reviews on eucerin.de.

The EU recommendation asks for UVA protection of at least one third of the SPF. Eucerin says it exceeds that, but publishes no UVA-PF figure, so the size of the margin is unknown.
Is it suitable for acne-prone skin?
That is its target group. Eucerin's own use test involved 325 women with acne-prone skin; we found no independent data on comedogenicity.
