Review

What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

The value pick among the premium brands, and a genuinely competitive result in the size that matters.

Auto Express 2025 placed it third of eight in 225/45 R17, behind the Continental and the Goodyear. It also scored "gut" in the ADAC 2025 test — in 225/40 R18, a different size, where it finished third of 31 with 2.2 overall.

The EU label in this size reads rolling resistance C, wet grip B, 70 dB — joint quietest here alongside the Continental, Nokian and Falken. The noise class letter was not published on the pages we reached. M+S and 3PMSF confirmed.

Enliten is Bridgestone's lightweight, low-rolling-resistance construction, and it does show up in independent environmental scoring rather than being purely a marketing term. But note that the label still reads C — the same as the Continental, Goodyear, Michelin, Hankook and Pirelli. The only tyre here that converts that engineering into a better class is the Nokian, at B.

At €125.58 against a €199 list price, this is the largest discount among the premium tyres here and €18 below the Continental. For a driver who wants premium-brand consistency without the top price, it is the sensible middle.

The limitation is the evidence base. This is the newest tyre of the premium set and its record in this exact size is one third place. The Continental has two first places. That is a real difference in confidence, and it is roughly what €18 buys.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification8.2

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies8.4

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback8.6

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value8.8

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does Enliten actually do?

It is Bridgestone's construction technology aimed at reducing tyre weight and rolling resistance without sacrificing grip, and it does show up in independent environmental scoring. But look at the label: this tyre is still rolling resistance C, the same as five others here. Only the Nokian WR Snowproof P reaches class B in this size. Each class step is worth roughly 0.1 l/100 km, so the practical difference between C and B is small but real — and Enliten does not deliver it here.

Principles

The manufacturer makes claims.
We check what the evidence says.

Every ranking follows the same protocol: an analysis of composition and specification, verification of claims against available studies, a review of verified owner feedback, and an assessment of price against what the product delivers.
