What this product is
Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.
If one machine in this ranking represents the right amount of money to spend, it is this one. At €448 it is class B on 65 kWh and 9.0 litres, and the equipment list is where it separates from the budget tier.
Against the €349 Beko — the same class B, and marginally better on water at 9.0 versus 9.5 litres — the extra €99 buys four things that matter: the VarioSchublade cutlery drawer, which frees a substantial block of the lower basket; AquaStop with Bosch's water-damage guarantee for the life of the appliance, a genuinely different mechanism from the budget float switch; Efficient Dry automatic door opening with a heat exchanger; and Home Connect for remote start, which is the one app feature with real economic value if your electricity tariff varies by time of day.
It also has the VarioFlex basket system with foldable tine rows, InfoLight beam-on-floor so you can tell whether a fully integrated machine is running, a water softener rated to 50 °dH, and a 3 hour 55 minute eco cycle that is well short of the AEG's five hours.
Put it next to the AEG 6000 FSK53627P, which sells for €679–699 and is class D at 84 kWh and 10.5 litres, and the case makes itself: this machine costs €231 less, uses 23% less electricity and 14% less water, and has a cutlery drawer the AEG lacks.
The compromises are modest. Six programmes rather than eight. At 44 dB it is the joint loudest here, 2 dB above the Serie 6 — audible but not intrusive. And the class B rating costs roughly €9 a year against a class A machine, which is real but small.
If you have a tall kitchen carcass, note that the fold-out hinge (Bosch part SMZ5003) is an optional accessory and is not supplied with the machine.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is class B good enough?
For most households, yes. The gap to class A is about €9 a year on our arithmetic — roughly €90 over a decade, against a €231 price difference to the Serie 6. Class B at 65 kWh is comfortably mid-market; what you should actually avoid is class D at 84 kWh, which costs about €17 a year more than this machine and is still being sold at higher prices than this one.
What is AquaStop and is it different from cheaper leak protection?
Yes, materially. AquaStop is a double-walled inlet hose with a solenoid valve at the tap end, so a burst hose is shut off at the water supply. Budget machines typically use a float switch in the base, which detects water already inside the appliance. Bosch and Siemens back AquaStop with a water-damage guarantee for the life of the appliance, which is a contractual commitment rather than a specification.
