Review
What this product is
Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.
The Suunto Run 2 suits runners who want proper multi-band GNSS, offline maps and a bright AMOLED screen without paying Garmin's mid-range prices. Suunto's own page lists dual-band L1 + L5 positioning across GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou and QZSS, 24 h of recording with dual-band GPS, 10 days of daily training use, a 1.32-inch LTPS AMOLED panel at 2,000 nits, 35 g for the watch body and 5 ATM water resistance.
The independent evidence is the strongest in this ranking. In the5krunner's full review (September 2026) the optical heart rate stayed within 1 bpm of reference sensors across eight sessions, with a mean bias of 0.0 bpm in several of them, and the watch scored 90% in the reviewer's standard 10-mile GPS test. The same review shows the limits of any wrist GPS: about 8 m out on a running track but 40 m short on a tree-covered trail. The reviewer gave it 91% overall.
What is missing: no NFC payments and no music streaming services (MP3 files only, per the5krunner), and daily battery is shorter than the original Run's according to the same review. Suunto's page did not show a price when we opened it; €299 is the 4 GB list price reported by the5krunner and also the lowest Dutch listing we saw. Suunto publishes no software-support period.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does the Suunto Run 2 have multi-band GPS?
Yes. Suunto lists dual-band L1 + L5 positioning across GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou and QZSS, and quotes up to 24 hours of recording with dual-band GPS.
How accurate is its wrist heart rate?
In the5krunner's September 2026 review the optical sensor stayed within 1 bpm of chest-strap references over eight sessions. That is one reviewer's testing, not a certified measurement; the watch is not a medical device.
