Review
What this product is
Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.
The Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 is for Android runners who want top-tier GPS hardware at a mid-range price. Huawei's specification sheet is unusually explicit about the radio: GPS L1 + L5, Galileo E1 + E5a, BeiDou B1I + B1C + B2a, QZSS L1 + L5, plus GLONASS and NavIC. It lists 32 hours in outdoor workout mode, 7 days of typical use and up to 14 days of light use, a 1.32-inch AMOLED screen, 34.5 g without strap, 5 ATM under ISO 22810:2010, IP69 and EN13319 diving to 40 m.
The 32-hour figure has a footnote, but it describes screen wake-ups and workout prompts rather than which positioning mode was active, so we cannot say whether it was measured with dual-band on. In the5krunner's February 2026 accuracy review the watch scored 90% in the standard 10-mile test, was exceptional in urban canyons and tunnels, yet showed inconsistencies in easy open conditions. Wrist heart rate was judged good enough to train by in steady running and cycling, but failed in pool swimming. Score: 87%.
The weak points are software: the same reviewer reports more frequent connection problems with iPhones and a less refined app ecosystem. Huawei's specification page carries no wellness disclaimer and no update commitment. The €240 price is the lowest Dutch listing we saw, not a Huawei store price.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does the GT Runner 2 work with an iPhone?
Huawei lists iOS 13.0 or later as compatible, but the5krunner reported more frequent connectivity problems than with Garmin or Apple and advised iPhone users who rely on deep integration to look elsewhere.
Is the 32-hour battery figure with dual-band on?
Huawei does not say. Its footnote describes screen wake-ups, volume and prompts, not the positioning mode, so treat 32 h as a best-case lab figure.
