What this product is
Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 suit Pixel and other Android users who want small, light earbuds. Google's German store page states up to 8 hours with ANC on and 30 hours with the case, 12 and 48 hours with ANC off, and up to 1.5 hours of playback from a 5-minute charge with ANC off. The earbuds weigh 4.7 g each with the medium tip and are rated IP54; the case is IPX4, weighs 65 g with the earbuds inside and charges by USB-C or Qi. The page lists Bluetooth 5.4, 11 mm drivers and Google's Tensor A1 chip.
SoundGuys scores the pair 7.4 out of 10: 8.0 for noise cancelling, which it says beats 51% of tested earbuds, 8.5 for comfort and fit, but 5.0 for connectivity. It lists multipoint and fit as strengths, and Pixel-only features, the absence of higher-bitrate codecs and no Auracast as drawbacks.
What is missing: Google publishes no codec list on the page we read (SoundGuys lists SBC, AAC and LC3), no ANC figure and nothing on battery replacement. At 249 euros in Google's store it costs the same as the AirPods Pro 3, whose measured ANC is stronger.
