What this product is
Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.
This is the best-evidenced recommendation in the ranking, and the price makes it slightly absurd. Stiftung Warentest issue 6/2025, published 16 May 2025, made it the outright Testsieger with "gut (1,8)" — ahead of Milwaukee, Bosch Professional, Makita and DeWalt tools in the same field. Heimwerker Praxis and testberichte.de composite scoring put it at 1.6.
The specification is genuinely competent rather than merely adequate. Brushless motor, 70 Nm hard-joint torque, a 13 mm metal single-sleeve keyless chuck, two gears, 21 clutch stages plus drill and hammer settings, and 32,000 blows per minute in second gear for masonry. At 1.37 kg bare it is among the lightest combi drills here.
What matters as much as the grade is what Stiftung Warentest's protocol measures. Their durability run cycles batteries to 400 charge cycles, and it is exactly this test that sank the DeWalt in the same round. A 1.8 from this test is a statement about the pack and the electronics, not just the motor.
The platform is Einhell Power X-Change, which Einhell states spans more than 350 devices — unusually broad because it reaches beyond power tools into garden equipment, cleaning, and cross-brand partnerships. For a homeowner who will later want a strimmer, a pressure washer and a leaf blower on the same battery, that breadth is worth more than a professional badge.
The compromises are real but modest. Einhell publishes a single torque figure without stating whether it is soft or hard joint (we have treated the 70 Nm as hard, consistent with the retail data). Masonry capacity is published only as 10 mm. And Einhell's "Professional" line is a consumer sub-brand on a DIY platform, not a trade range — the test result is what justifies it, not the name.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How can an €80 drill beat a €217 Makita?
Because Stiftung Warentest scores the whole tool, including a battery durability run to 400 charge cycles, safety behaviour when a bit jams, handling and noise — not just peak torque. Professional tools are built for daily site use, service networks and long-term parts supply, none of which the test measures. For a homeowner drilling a few hundred holes a year, the test measures the right things.
Is Power X-Change worth committing to?
For a homeowner, it is arguably the strongest argument in the ranking. Einhell states the platform spans over 350 devices, and unusually it reaches into garden and cleaning equipment rather than just power tools. If you expect to buy a cordless hedge trimmer or pressure washer later, one battery system covering all of it saves considerably more than the drill costs.
