Roborock Saros 20

The flattest robot here at 7.98 cm and the one with the most complete datasheet: threshold height, noise, dustbin volume and wash temperature are all stated. Its 8.8 cm double-step claim was repeated in a Notebookcheck review.

Review

What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

The Saros 20 suits homes with low furniture and awkward door sills. Roborock publishes almost everything a buyer needs: 350 × 353 × 79.8 mm, a double threshold of up to 8.8 cm (4.5 + 4.3 cm), a 6,400 mAh battery, 200 minutes in quiet mode, a 259 ml dustbin, 63 dB in balanced mode, mop washing at up to 100 °C and drying at 55 °C. It has no LiDAR turret; navigation uses 3D ToF sensors and an RGB camera.

Independent evidence is the best in this ranking. Notebookcheck (1 March 2026) confirmed the 8.8 cm climb in two steps, measured about 60 dB in standard mode and about 70 dB at maximum suction, and estimated roughly 11 kWh a month for a daily 50 m² run. Vacuum Wars scores it 3.81 with 89% of embedded sand lifted from carpet. The Smart Home Hookup saw it clear a 50 mm threshold.

What is missing: the German product page lists no security or privacy certificate for a robot that carries a camera, Notebookcheck found mopping behind roller-mop rivals and no detergent in the box, and Vacuum Wars calls the dustbin smaller than average. The €999 price was a promotion against a €1,489 list price.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification9.0

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies8.5

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback8.3

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value7.8

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How high a threshold can the Roborock Saros 20 cross?

Roborock states up to 8.8 cm for a double step made of 4.5 cm and 4.3 cm. Notebookcheck repeated that figure in its March 2026 review, and The Smart Home Hookup saw the robot clear a 50 mm threshold.

Does the Saros 20 have a camera?

Yes. Navigation and obstacle recognition use 3D ToF sensors together with an RGB camera. The German product page we opened names no security or privacy certificate.
