What this product is
Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.
The Flip is the budget option: Stiftung Warentest paid 38 euros for it, roughly a sixth of the price of the Cybex Coya. Infantino publishes a range of 8–32 lb, which is about 3.6–14.5 kg, and four ways to carry: facing in with a narrow seat, facing in with a wide seat, facing out and as a backpack. The maker describes the seat as ergonomic and M-shaped.
The independent finding contradicts the from-birth use. Test.de reports that in the 7/2026 test the Infantino was one of five carriers unsuitable for newborns: the seat is too narrow and the head support insufficient. Press summaries add that the recommended spread-squat position was not reached. By deduction from the published tally it was rated satisfactory overall, and it was not the model that failed on harmful substances.
The data sheet is the thinnest here. The manufacturer page we opened is the US one; it gave no price, no fabric composition, no carrier weight, no waist-belt range, no washing instructions and no safety standard, and it does not appear on the IHDI list we opened. We could not open an Infantino EU page.
It may be adequate as an occasional carrier for an older baby who already sits well. For a newborn, the tested alternatives from 99 euros are the safer choice.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is the Infantino Flip suitable for a newborn?
Infantino gives a minimum of 8 lb, about 3.6 kg. Stiftung Warentest (7/2026) judged it unsuitable for newborns because the seat is too narrow and the head support insufficient.
Why is so little data listed for the Infantino Flip?
The manufacturer page we could open gave only the weight range, the positions and a feature list. Fabric, carrier weight, waist range and washing instructions were not on it, so we report them as not published.
