What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

The endurance option, and the one to consider if charging is the thing that annoys you.

Up to six weeks of battery is the longest in this ranking by a clear margin — against roughly two weeks for the Sonicare and Oral-B models, and about twelve days for the prokudent. For travel, or simply for not thinking about it, that is a genuine practical advantage.

It is a sonic brush at 40,000 vibrations per minute with three modes, a brush-change indicator and a timer. Heads cost €12.99 for three — €4.33 each, which is mid-range: more than Oral-B's round heads at €3.33 or prokudent's at €2.65, considerably less than genuine Sonicare heads at €9.50–12.00 or Curaprox at €16.30. The five-year total is about €137.

The evidence base is thinner than the leaders here. happybrush's earlier R2 model was one of four best-graded brushes in ÖKO-TEST's December 2021 round, but we found no Stiftung Warentest result for the Eco VIBE 3 itself, and no Which? or Konsument data.

A pressure sensor is not listed on the retailer page and we have assumed it is absent. If it matters to you — and on the recession evidence it should if you brush hard — confirm before ordering.

The brand positions itself on sustainability, which in a category with a documented e-waste problem is at least coherent. But note that this positioning does not currently extend to a replaceable battery, and no electric toothbrush here has one.

A starter kit with four refills sells at €79.99.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification7.0

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies7.0

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback8.0

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value8.8

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does six weeks of battery matter?

It is a convenience rather than a clinical benefit, but a real one. Two weeks means charging roughly twice a month and occasionally being caught out on a trip; six weeks means you stop thinking about it. If you travel frequently, it removes the charger from your luggage entirely for most trips.

Principles

The manufacturer makes claims.
We check what the evidence says.

Every ranking follows the same protocol: an analysis of composition and specification, verification of claims against available studies, a review of verified owner feedback, and an assessment of price against what the product delivers.
