Ecovacs Deebot X12 OmniCyclone

The only manufacturer here to publish airflow (22 l/s) and pressure (0.22 bar) instead of a bare Pascal headline, with a bagless station and the best obstacle-avoidance results we saw.

What this product is

Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.

The X12 OmniCyclone suits cluttered homes and buyers who do not want to buy dust bags. Ecovacs publishes an airflow of 22 l/s and suction of up to 0.22 bar, a 4,000 mAh battery charged in 2 h 25 min, a 0.25 L dustbin, a bagless 1.6 L station container, 3.5 L and 2.7 L water tanks, 63 °C drying and a noise level of 64.4 dB. The robot is 353 × 351 × 98 mm.

On obstacles the evidence is strong: The Smart Home Hookup gave it a perfect 6 out of 6 for object avoidance, and Vacuum Wars counted 23 of 24 obstacles avoided, a full pet-hair pickup and no hair tangles. Its overall Vacuum Wars score of 3.77 is sixteenth in the top 20, with carpet cleaning described as only average.

On thresholds it is ordinary: 2.4 cm for a single sill and 4 cm for a double step. No security certificate was named on the page, and the manufacturer page showed no owner reviews; Geizhals listed a 5.0 rating from just three. Ecovacs charged €799, while Geizhals showed 28 offers from €651.79.

Component scores

Where the score
comes from.

Four components, equal weight, each on a 0–10 scale and each resting on a named source. The overall score is their mean — the full procedure is in the methodology.

  1. Composition and specification8.2

Declared composition and specification: active ingredients and their concentrations, energy classes, standards, technical parameters — and what the manufacturer leaves unsaid.

  2. Evidence and studies7.8

Verification of the manufacturer's claims against outside sources: laboratory reports, industry testing, safety data sheets, certificates and regulatory decisions.

  3. Owner feedback6.8

Analysis of verified reviews written after extended use, together with recurring fault reports for the model or series.

  4. Cost and value7.8

Price set against what the product actually delivers, plus costs incurred later — consumables, energy, servicing, subscriptions — over the lifespan typical for the category.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why does Ecovacs quote bar and litres per second instead of Pascals?

The product page gives airflow (22 l/s) and pressure (up to 0.22 bar). Retail listings such as Geizhals convert the pressure to 22,000 Pa. Airflow is the more useful half of the pair, and few rivals publish it.

Does the X12 OmniCyclone use dust bags?

No. The station has a bagless cyclone container of 1.6 L that has to be emptied and cleaned by hand from time to time.

Principles

The manufacturer makes claims.
We check what the evidence says.

Every ranking follows the same protocol: an analysis of composition and specification, verification of claims against available studies, a review of verified owner feedback, and an assessment of price against what the product delivers.
