What this product is
Written after the analysis, from the same sources the score is built on: the manufacturer's documentation, available studies and verified owner feedback.
The Harmony is BabyBjörn's four-position carrier: newborn, facing in, facing out and back. The maker publishes 3.2–15 kg, 53–100 cm and 0–3 years, and says a baby can face out from around five months, once the neck muscles hold the head unaided.
The page is one of the better documented. It names EN 13209-2:2015 and ASTM F2236, OEKO-TEX for the 3D Mesh fabric (100% polyester), Bluesign for the recycled woven version, washing at 40 °C in a washing bag and a 10-year guarantee. BabyBjörn states an IHDI acknowledgement, and the IHDI page lists the Harmony.
The test result is the problem. Stiftung Warentest's 7/2026 test included the Harmony, and test.de reports that the BabyBjörn was one of five carriers unsuitable for newborns because the correct leg position could not be achieved. By deduction from the published tally it was rated satisfactory; we did not see the number. BabyBjörn's own position, quoting the IHDI's director, is that no single position is better than another as long as the legs are spread and free to move.
Not published: carrier weight and a waist range in centimetres (only XS to XXL). At 244.90 euros it is the second most expensive carrier here.
